I am fairly new to guns and would like to own a 30-06. The owner is asking for $350 for the used Remington. It is blue with a wood stock. The stock is a little worn, but no cracks. What sub-model of the 700 is it? Does it come with a good scope already on it? You really cant go wrong with a Remington 700 if its in good condition. I own 2. One in .270 and one in 30-06. Both are ADL with synthetic stocks. I bought the .270 2 years ago and the 30-06 this year. Both were under $330 each. Best bang for the buck and very accurate. Do some checking around before you commit to this used one. You can even go to gunbroker dot com and find a new one and have it shipped to a gun dealer near you. (btw-gunbroker is kinda high)There are real deals out there, you just have to look. Some Walmarts still sell them too, even though i HATE walmart. Like I said in your later post. Just take the bolt to home depot, lowes, the hard ware store and get a new shorter one. Also get a washer and mill out bolt hole a little.
