How much do Massage Therapists make in Iowa?
Q. I'm thinking about going to massage therapy school and I'm wondering I could get some realistic ideas of what massage therapists earn for income. Preferably in the Des Moines, Iowa area. Thanks!

A. the first year could be that of a starving artist, depending on where you work. i have friends in the dsm area that have had varying levels of success. some made more waiting tables. a ballpark guess would be 25k your first year, if you work for an established biz. i went the self employed route almost 6 years ago in central ia and have no regrets. there are alot of variables that come into play. some you can control and some you can't. good hands and a sense of business, you can do ok. add good intentions and have your "essence" come through you hands, and there are no limits. it takes a little time and some word of mouth for things to happen. good luck on your path.
