What industries make use of the knowledge of cellular transports ?
Q. What industries make use of the knowledge of cellular transports to affect (either negatively or positively) you daily life?

A. If you are talking about plants then anything involve botany / development of plants / farmers / textiles / the list goes on - basically translating into food or clothing - not including paper / plants or trees for your home. If you are talking about humans then anything associated with hematology - such as blood banks with blood, plasma, etc. to sustain the life of some one who is in need of it. There are industries that come up with negative such as poisons / gases / etc. that the intent is to stop or hinder the cellular process to kill an adversary / enemy or pest (such as rodents/ roaches).

What does hypothermia & hyperthermia do to you on a cellular level?
Q. I have no idea. All I can find are symptoms and confusing science journals. I just need to know the cellular level. Like is stuff damaged? What?

A. I'm pretty sure in late stages of hypothermia, moisture inside of cells begins to freeze (expand and crystallize) and breaks cell membranes. That's why hypothermia affected limbs turn black (internal bruising) and often have to be amputated. As for hyperthermia, I'm not too sure. I just know the body can't handle internal temperatures of 104+ or the brain overheats and shuts down.

A. One approach that could be used is 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing and analysis to determine the degree of relatedness between your sample organism and already-established Earth lineages. A high degree of similarity between your 16S rRNA sequence and established sequences could imply that your mystery organism is a contaminant and not a novel life-form. Depending on culture conditions - deep-ocean samples will likely be anaerobic and, given Europa's environment, psychrophilic - you can further determine if your organism is a contaminant or not. For example if the organism is not able to grow in anaerobic conditions, it is not likely a novel life-form but rather a contaminant from Earth. HTH.
