From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. P is the sixteenth letter of the basic modern Latin alphabet. Its name in English (pronounced /ˈpiː/) is spelled pee. HistoryThe Semitic Pê (mouth), as well as the Greek Π or π (Pi), and the Etruscan and UsageIn English and most other European languages, P is a voiceless bilabial plosive. Both initial and final Ps can be combined with many other discrete consonants in English words. A common example of assimilation is the tendency of prefixes ending in N to assume an M sound before Ps (such as "in" + "pulse" → "impulse" — see also List of Latin words with English derivatives). A common digraph in English is "ph", which represents the voiceless labiodental fricative /f/, and can be used to transliterate Phi (φ) in loanwords from Greek. In German, the digraph "pf" is common, representing a labial affricate of /pf/. Arabic speakers are usually unaccustomed to pronouncing /p/; they pronounce it as /b/. From Wikipedia under the

If both p and q are different primes dividing the integer a, then p*q divides a. I cannot figure out how to get started on this proof. Asked by Treyford - Wed Oct 29 15:18:52 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Can you get each of p divides a and q divides a? If so , then write a = pn, (p divides a). Since you have q divides a then you have q divides pn because a=pn. Now q divides pn but q does not divide p since p and q are different primes. Therefore q must divide n, so write n = qm ( m is an integer). Combine this with a = pn to get a = p(qm) = (pq)m and you have pq divides a. Q. Jason and Maria are playing a board game in whice three dice are tossed to determine a player's move. Find each probability. P(two 5s)? Asked by Unknowing - Tue Feb 19 14:47:42 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. Use the binomial theorem. You have 3 trials with the probability of success p=1/6. P(m 5s out of n dice) = C(n,m) p^m (1-p)^(n-m) where C(n,m) is the number of ways of selecting m success out of n tries Since we want 2 5s out of 3 dice we use C(3,2) = 3!/(2!1!) = 3 P(two 5s) = 3*(1/6)^2*(5/6)^1 = 15/216 = 5/72 This is for "exactly two 5s", not "at least two 5s".
