Contemporary is a visual arts The visual arts are art forms that create works which are primarily visual in nature, such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture, printmaking, modern visual arts , design and crafts. These definitions should not be taken too strictly as many artistic disciplines (performing arts, conceptual art, textile arts) involve aspects of magazine, published every month. Founded and edited by Keith Spencer in 1992, it was originally called Contemporary Art. It later changed name to Contemporary Visual Art and CVA, finally settling for Contemporary in 2002.
Its website claims that it is the world's most widely distributed arts magazine, with an estimated international readership of around 7,500. Contemporary was based in Bermondsey Bermondsey is an area in London on the south bank of the river Thames, and is part of the London Borough of Southwark. To the west lies Southwark, to the east Rotherhithe, and to the south, Walworth and Peckham, south-east London, but moved its administrative offices to Panama City to start a Spanish-language edition in 2007.
In May 2009, it was reported that the magazine hadn't paid its contributing writers for over a year. [1]
The magazine is published by Brian Mūller, who currently serves as editor and publisher, following the resignation of Emiliano Valdes in December 2008.

Between 1994 and 2002 he created the Cremaster Cycle, a series of five feature-length films described by Jonathan Jones in The Guardian as "one of the most imaginative, Pipilotti Rist, Yoko Ono Yoko Ono is a Japanese-American artist, musician, author and peace activist, also known for her marriage to John Lennon and her groundbreaking work in avant-garde art, music and filmmaking. Ono brought feminism to the forefront through her music, and is also considered a pioneer and major influence of the 1970s new wave genre. She is a supporter and Tracey Emin Tracey Karima Emin RA is a British artist and part of the group known as Britartists or YBAs (Young British Artists) have all featured in the magazine. Contemporary's marketing strategy includes the distribution of specially commissioned limited edition prints by well-known artists free to its subscribers.
