Q. I've been searching the internet for information on obtaining a published, printed directory of residential facilities for senior citizens, either in my area or my mother's area. I can find web sites with these listings, but no one seems to offer a printed version. It seems like I've seen such directories before, but can't remember where. Is there any reason why you can't get that section from the yellow pages of your phone book, or hers? I would think that would be the easiest way to find those listed. Perhaps you would be able to get a published list through your county offices of "aging/disabilities'. They are very helpful with information to help the elderly. Or even with Social Services through the county. Perhaps they have a brochure printed for give away. I believe that is where I got a list at one time. I called on the phone, and requested one, and it was sent in the mail. It listed both assisted living, and independant living for seniors. I would try calling first to save yourself a trip, just as I did.
