Where is modern art going next?
Q. I read an article in artnews this week talking about different things that are happening in art right now and where it is going to go from here. It talked a lot about the financial crisis. What do you guys think? Yes you can I hope the link still works

A. i think art is a precursor to future events... look what happened when art went pop? look what became of society when we got into (i forget the specific classification of art) when got into modern corporate sculpture? i think it speaks volumes the fact that nothing hot is happening. when the music burns itself out with the same tired melody, when pictures no longer speak, when the poet no longer dreams... it is the death of a society. groups of human beings can be measured by the artist's mood. i think in some ways the artists have turned away from social approval, as a lot of art is very subculture now, deep and buried and hidden as if it were the most precious thing or perhaps an abominable scurge. the title artist is held up both… [cont.]
